Room 5 - Product Comparisons / Financial Analysis

Use the password you found in the second part of Room 4 to open the first task for room 5 - looking at product comparisons.

You should have found a number - and this (if correct) is the password to the second task for room 5 - looking at basic financial analysis.

Financial analysis is a key skill that competitive intelligence practitioners should know. We don't expert brilliance but we do expect some competence - and I hope you will find the 2nd task in room 5 easy. Be careful with rounding errors - up or down is up to you (but remember your school mathematics on how to round up/down numbers). Use the answer for this to open the final room - room 6 (below).

I've also uploaded the Gartner Magic Quadrant Report (2020). You don't need this but it does give more information on the overall industry and so may be of interest.

Room 6 - Patents, Law suits & Market Shares

The target company we are looking at owns a number of patents. They've also been accused (wrongfully) of patent infringement. The first task in room 6 looks at this.

This will tell you what to do next - including how to find the passwords for the next part of Room 6. This final task looks at issues relating to market shares. Use the password you just found to open Room 6 part 2 tasks.

If you've now solved the final task, exit - and collect your certificate of merit - using the password from the final part of room 6.
